July 24, 2010, six intrepid alums braved a heat index of 110 to walk one of Manhattan's newest attractions -- the High Line -- an abandoned railway viaduct converted into a park with beautiful plantings and magnificent vistas that soars 14-30 feet about the West side streets.

Led by former history-major Brenda Berkman '73, the group heard stories of the past glories of the area along with the history of this already-popular park. After enjoying gourmet pizza, most of the group continued to explore several art galleries in the nearby Chelsea section.
