U.S. News ranks St. Olaf among the top 50 liberal arts colleges in the nation
Thursday, Aug 28, 2008 — St. Olaf College jumped seven spots to No. 47 in the latest edition of the U.S. News college rankings, the first time since 1998 that St. Olaf has been ranked among the top 50 liberal arts colleges in the nation.
Finding a new way to ease microscopic friction
Thursday, Aug 28, 2008 — Professor of Physics Brian Borovsky is using a grant from the National Science Foundation to research a new way to lubricate machines that are smaller in size than a width of hair. These micromachines are used in everything from the launch sensor in vehicle airbags to the controllers of games like Nintendo Wii.
