Cycling to Week One
FRIDAY, SEP 3, 2010 — When cyclist Sam Williams '14 recently told his parents he was "going for a ride," he had bigger ideas than pedaling leisurely through his hometown of Noblesville, Indiana. Nine days and 640 miles later, he finished his journey outside St. Olaf's Hoyme Hall.


'Danger' at opening convocation
FRIDAY, SEP 3, 2010 — Opening convocation for St. Olaf College will take place Thursday in Boe Memorial Chapel. John Ferguson, college organist and the Elliot and Klara Stockdal Johnson Professor of Organ and Church Music, will present his address, "Danger: Keep Out."

St. Olaf student support program survives federal cuts
MONDAY, AUG 23, 2010 — A recent Star Tribune article takes a close look at how a number of federally funded TRiO Student Support Services programs serving low-income, first-generation, or disabled college students have not been granted money for the coming year. St. Olaf's SSS program that currently serves 180 students did get re-funded at nearly $1.3 million for five years.


Moody's awards St. Olaf higher grade
TUESDAY, AUG 17, 2010 — Moody’s Investors Service has announced its most recent evaluation of the fiscal soundness of St. Olaf, upgrading the college from its previous A2 bond rating to A1, which President David R. Anderson '74 calls a “testament to the fact that St. Olaf continues to prosper and excel in difficult times.”
