The Academic Support Center's Mission:
The Academic Support Center works with students, faculty, and staff to assist students who strive to become stronger independent and collaborative learners.
The Academic Support Center (ASC) helps students develop independent learning techniques that will contribute to their academic and personal growth at St. Olaf.
The Academic Support Center employs both professional staff and student staff to assist students with study strategies, time management, analytical reading, note-taking, writing, math, test-taking, and problem solving.
The ASC also provides services for students with disabilities and learning differences ranging from visual and hearing disabilities to Attention Deficit Disorder. If you have a diagnosed disability, please provide our office with a copy of your documentation in order to receive the support you need. If you are concerned that you might have an undiagnosed disability, just make an appointment by calling 507-786-3288.
During the academic year our professional staff are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment. Our services are provided free for full-time St. Olaf Students.
During the summer, we are open from Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or by appointment.
| Location Change! |
The ASC offices have now moved to Buntrock Commons 108 right next to the Print Center and Campus Post Office Windows! This will be our temporary location until Summer 2012, when it is estimated our new space in Rolvaag Memorial Library is finished. |
Su Smallen, Language Learning and Writing Tutor Coordinator is now located at Rolvaag Memorial Library #306. The Writing Help Desk is now located near the Reference Desk in Rolvaag Memorial Library. |
